Fen Phen Lawsuit

YAZ, ACTOS, FEN-PHEN, ACCUTANE, FOSAMAX, PAXIL, ZOLOFT,AVANDIA, PRADAXA, RISPERDAL, Zoloft, Paxil, PRadaxaTRASYLOL The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled in the most recent (redux) fen phen lawsuit that the maker of the weight-loss diet drug fen phen, redux etc. that took off and went bust in the diet drug craze must face claims that its warning labels were inadequate. 

The latest Fen phen lawsuit is against Delaware-based Wyeth, formerly known as American Home Products.  The Pennsylvania Supreme Court recently reinstated the fen phen lawsuit claims that the company negligently designed and marketed a diet pill, Redux, (fen phen) that’s now withdrawn from the market.   A judge in Philadelphia had previously dismissed the redux fen phen lawsuit…

Even after the recall of the diet drug Fen-Phen, Fen-Phen {(Pondimin and Redux, Phentamine, Pondimin (fenfluramine)} may still cause certain injuries such as:

  1. Primary Pulmonary Hypertension (PPH)
  2. Primary Arterial Hypertension (PAH)
  3. Idiopathic Primary Arterial Hypertension (IPAH) (hereinafter “PPH or PAH”)
  4. Sporadic primary pulmonary hypertension
  5. Familial primary pulmonary hypertension
  6. Idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension
  7. Primary pulmonary hypertension
  8. PPH
  9. Secondary pulmonary hypertension.

PPH or PAH can be one of five different types:

  • arterial
  • venous
  • hypoxic
  • thromboembolic

In addition, fen phen has been linked to heart valve damage too.  Unfortunately, an estimated 500 to 1,000 new cases of Primary Pulmonary Hypertension (PPH) or Primary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) are diagnosed each year, and many doctors and experts believe that Primary Pulmonary Hypertension (PPH) or Primary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) is linked to the diet drug Fen-Phen.
